- We are currently seeking Farsi and Arabic speakers for the DC Metro Area and for overseas assignments.
- We are also seeking linguists qualified in languages covering the Afghanistan Area of Operations (Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Urdu) with the following qualifications:
Category II Linguist:
Summary:
Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 2 in English and 4/5 in the target language. Ability to accurately perform timely interpretation, written translation of general and technical texts, and written transcription of aural communications from English into the target language and vice versa. Superior listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills in both English and the target language; advanced knowledge of idioms and grammar. Familiarity with local customs and culture; ability to provide advice on cultural, ethnic, religious, and political issues. willingness to deploy to the Area of Operations and live in austere conditions and potentially dangerous environments. Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must pass multiple language tests, medical screenings and satisfy all relevant security clearance requirements. Some positions may require certain physical capabilities and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds .
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, possessing or eligible for Secret level security clearance.
Category III Linguists:
Summary:
Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 /4 in English and target language (Pashto and/or Dari). Ability to accurately perform consecutive interpretation, written translation of general and technical texts, and written transcription of aural communications from English into the target language and vice versa. Superior listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills in both English and the target language; advanced knowledge of idioms and grammar. Familiarity with local customs and culture; ability to provide advice on cultural, ethnic, religious, and political issues. Willingness to deploy to the Area of Operations and live in austere conditions and potentially dangerous environments. Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
